The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) has announced traffic restrictions for vehicles with a maximum authorized total weight of over 7.5 tons during the miniholiday of Pentecost, between May 30 and June 1, 2026. The company specified that the restrictions apply on highways and heavily trafficked national roads, including A2 Bucharest - Constanța, DN7 Pitești - Râmnicu Vâlcea, and DN39 Agigea - Mangalia.
The measure is in accordance with MT-MAI Order no. 1249-132/2018 and targets specific time intervals, especially during the extended weekend of Pentecost and Children's Day. Non-compliance with these restrictions will be considered an offense and will be penalized with a fine. Authorities recommend drivers to plan their trips in advance, taking into account the imposed restrictions. This miniholiday will provide Romanians with three consecutive days off, thus facilitating travel to vacation destinations.
