Defective traffic lights in approximately 35 intersections in Bucharest

Bucharest has faced traffic problems due to malfunctions in the traffic light systems. On Monday, August 24, approximately 35 intersections recorded dysfunctions, caused by power outages or by the systems switching to emergency mode, with intermittent yellow traffic lights.

The most affected areas include Arc de Triomphe Square, Lion Square, and South Square, as well as important intersections such as Gara Călărași Road - Pantelimon Road and Iuliu Maniu Boulevard - Apusului Street.

To prevent blockages and accidents, the Traffic Brigade has mobilized teams to direct traffic in critical areas. Authorities have notified the public road administrator to quickly remedy the malfunctions, and the Traffic Police recommend that drivers proceed with caution, following the signals of the agents and the rules of priority in the absence of functional traffic lights.
