The Mayor of Sector 4, Daniel Băluță, announced the reopening of road traffic on the road that crosses Union Square, between Independence Boulevard and Corneliu Coposu Boulevard, starting Tuesday morning. This is good news for Bucharest residents who transit the area daily and demonstrates the efficiency of collaboration between authorities in carrying out public investments.

Recent works included the restoration of sidewalks, the roadway, and road markings, thus ensuring traffic safety. Băluță emphasized the importance of this strategic project for improving urban mobility and infrastructure in the center of the Capital. The works began last year and included the demolition of the old pavement, with over 75% of the beams of the new construction already completed. The fourth phase of the works, in the area of the Horoscop restaurant, is expected to be completed by the beginning of the new school year. Additionally, interventions on the drainage system have been made, and the mayor estimated that works for the Unirii Passage will begin in 2028.
