Traffic restrictions on DN 7C until March: The works for the arrangement of Vidraru block the road in Argeș County

Road traffic on DN 7C - Transfăgărășan has been closed in the area of the locality Arefu, Argeș County, starting from February 4, 2026, and will remain closed until March 20, 2026. This measure is necessary for carrying out modernization works at the Vidraru hydro-technical facility, which involve replacing the dam's grates, requiring the stabilization of a crane on the roadway.

The works will take place during specific time intervals, from Monday to Thursday between 08:00 - 11:00 and 13:00 - 18:00, and from Friday to Sunday between 08:00 - 11:00, to allow traffic for local residents and tourists. It is also important to mention that on DN 7C, between Piscu Negru and Bâlea Cascada, traffic is closed during winter, with reopening planned for the beginning of the warm season.
