Timișoara will implement an innovative system of integrated fixed radars in the e-Sigur platform, thus becoming the first city in Romania to use this technology.

Deputy Mayor Ruben Lațcău highlighted the issue of traffic indiscipline, mentioning that approximately 20,000 red light violations are recorded monthly. Although the city has hundreds of surveillance cameras and radars, until now they have been unable to issue fines due to incompatibility with the MAI system. Recently, two new radars have been purchased that are now compatible with the Romanian Police system. After metrological verification, they will be integrated into e-Sigur, and drivers who exceed the speed limit will receive fines by mail. The first penalties are expected to be issued soon.
