The rehabilitation works of the Unirii Square in Bucharest have advanced significantly, exceeding 60% of the total project. The new phase of the construction site will take place near the Unirii Road Passage, involving temporary traffic modifications, scheduled for summer when traffic is lighter.
Drivers will be redirected, and alternative routes have been established in collaboration with the Traffic Brigade. So far, 65% of the old square has been demolished and 88% of the necessary piles for reinforcement have been completed. The project includes the restoration of road and pedestrian infrastructure, and the first important section, in the area of Hanul lui Manuc, has been completed.
Cristian Erbașu, the director of the construction company, mentioned that the acceleration of the works depends on budget allocations. The project aims to modernize the infrastructure and improve safety, with the goal of reducing pollution and shaping a modern urban image.
