Preliminary report of the Judicial Committee of the U.S. Congress, which accuses Brussels of imposing political "censorship" in the EU and questions the annulment of the elections in Romania, is in reality a pressure tool of Donald Trump's ultraconservatives on European regulations in the digital area, explains Mircea Toma, a member of the CNA, who speaks about an "attack on the sovereignty of the European Union" and a projection of the American ultraconservative vision on European democracy.

The document claims that, since the implementation of the Digital Services Act (DSA) in 2023, the EU has censored content before the elections in several countries, including Romania. The European Commission rejected the accusations, calling them absurd and unfounded. Toma emphasizes that the report has a biased methodology and that the DSA does not apply outside the EU. Furthermore, the report mentions that Romanian authorities requested the removal of political content, which is considered undemocratic. In conclusion, Toma states that the report reflects a distorted interpretation of European law and an attempt to intimidate European authorities.
