The spokesperson of the Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges (DRDP) Brașov, Robert Elekes, announced that road traffic on National Road 7C - Transfăgărășan, between Piscu Negru and Bâlea Cascadă, could be reopened in the second half of June.
Currently, road workers continue to clear the road to ensure safety conditions for traffic. DRDP Brașov sent a message on social media, highlighting the efforts made: "A lot has been done, only a little remains!" Traffic on Transfăgărășan has been closed since October 20, 2025, due to avalanches and the large snow cover. Until reopening, tourists can use the cable car to cover the distance between Bâlea Cascadă and Bâlea Lac.
Meteorologists mention that in the Bâlea Lac area, at over 2,000 meters altitude, there are only patches of snow left.
