The TikTok account of Realitatea Plus has been permanently closed. Anca Alexandrescu: "The next step towards dictatorship"

The TikTok account of Realitatea Plus has been permanently closed, shortly after the National Audiovisual Council (CNA) decided to sanction the station with a three-hour suspension of broadcasting, due to violations of audiovisual legislation.

The account had nearly 650,000 followers, making it the most popular TikTok account of a television station in Romania, according to coordinator Aurelian Săndulescu.

The host of the show "Culisele statului paralel", Anca Alexandrescu, and the editor-in-chief Ionela Arcanu criticized the decision, considering it an act of censorship and a threat to freedom of expression.

"Neomarxists are taking the next step towards dictatorship," Anca Alexandrescu wrote on Facebook.

The CNA voted for the sanction following issues of impartiality in the station's broadcasts, noted during the period of November 1-21, 2025, before the electoral campaign for the Capital City Mayor.

The broadcasting of Realitatea Plus will be suspended on Thursday, February 19, between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
