The suspended mayor of Livezile, Traian Simionca, indicted for sexual assault, placed under house arrest

The Bistrița-Năsăud Tribunal has decided to replace the preventive arrest measure with house arrest for the suspended mayor of Livezile, Traian Simionca, who is charged with sexual assault. The preventive arrest was set to expire on February 22, and the court ruled that, starting from February 19 and until March 20, he should be placed under house arrest, with the obligation to wear an electronic monitoring device. Simionca has been in preventive arrest for two months and is being investigated for sexual assault, invasion of privacy, and influencing statements, after he distributed intimate images of an employee on a communication network.
