The Digital Majority Law has been adopted by the Senate, establishing a framework for the protection of children in the online environment.

The adoption of the Digital Majority Law, initiated by PNL senator Nicoleta Pauliuc, introduces the concept of digital maturity at 16 years old in Romania. The law allows children under 16 to access online platforms only with parental consent, who can restrict accounts and request the removal of harmful content. Additionally, digital service providers are required to implement age filters and protect minors' data. This law is an important step for the digital safety of children and will be sent to the Chamber of Deputies for approval.
