The National Administration Apele Române announces that the process of restoring the IT infrastructure, affected by a ransomware cyber attack on December 20, is proceeding according to the steps established by the competent authorities. The recovery of user accounts has been completed, allowing the resumption of secure access to the systems necessary for the current activities.

The email service is in the process of stabilization, and work to secure the website www.rowater.ro is ongoing. Essential activities, such as monitoring water resources and flood forecasting, continue without interruption. Following the attack, approximately 1,000 IT&C systems were compromised, including servers and workstations. The investigation into the cyber incident is still active, under the supervision of the National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC).
