The Sahara rocket, entirely produced in Romania, except for the engine and optical sensors, was recently presented in Bucharest. It can reach speeds of 1,000 km/h and flies at an altitude of 50 meters, thus becoming undetectable by radars. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it is piloted by software called Nemesis, developed by a company from Cluj, which constantly analyzes GPS data and takes control in case of anomalies. The manufacturer confirmed that the technology is not available elsewhere and has sparked interest from government authorities. The rocket has an estimated cost between 150,000 and 350,000 euros, depending on the range, which can reach up to 1,000 km. Officials from the Ministry of Defense and representatives from arms companies were present at the event, expressing a desire to collaborate for the development of this capability. The manufacturer mentioned that the rocket has already been tested abroad and is ready for a complete demonstration in a military range, should the Ministry of Defense request it.
