The interim mayor of the Capital, Stelian Bujduveanu, announced that a heritage building located on Lipscani Street, in the Old Town, will undergo reconstruction. This intervention is deemed necessary for the safety of residents and for the protection of the city's heritage, considering the high seismic risk of the property. Bujduveanu emphasized that, although the building will be rebuilt, the original architecture will be preserved, and the new structure will comply with current resistance standards. The total value of the investment amounts to 7.2 million lei, excluding VAT, and the execution period is 24 months. The project is part of a broader program of the Capital City Hall, which aims to reduce seismic risk in vulnerable buildings, currently having 13 ongoing strengthening sites.
