The Prefect of the Capital, Andrei Nistor, made clarifications on Sunday regarding the measures taken after the explosion in a building in the Rahova neighborhood, which occurred on Friday morning, resulting in three deaths and 20 injuries. Nistor stated that the situation remains dynamic, and the authorities are acting promptly to manage the effects of the event. Distrigaz will resume gas supply to the buildings in the area, after the supply was temporarily halted.
An integrated coordination group, consisting of police officers, gendarmes, and firefighters, continues support activities for the affected individuals, including maintaining the safety perimeter and controlled access to apartments for the recovery of belongings. The authorities, together with NGOs and volunteers, are carrying out social assistance activities, accommodation, and cleaning of the area. The affected building had 108 apartments and housed approximately 400 people.
