Alin, a 15-year-old teenager from the commune of Cenei, Timiș County, was killed by two young men, aged 13 and 15. His mother reported his disappearance on January 20, and later, the boy's body was found buried in the yard of one of the suspects. The mayor of Cenei, Tanasin Sârgean, stated that Alin's father, Viorel Berinde, is in prison for violent acts and will not be able to attend the funeral. Viorel Berinde is involved in a criminal case for theft and illegal access to a computer system, having multiple fraud charges. The court confirmed the legality of the evidence collected in his case, and the trial began on December 11, 2025, with the next hearing set for February 17, 2026.
