The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Romania informs Romanian citizens who are in or intend to travel to the Kingdom of Sweden that the Swedish authorities have decided to extend border controls at the internal state borders for the period of November 12, 2025 – May 11, 2026. The MFA recommends that all Romanian citizens carry a valid identity document, whether it is a passport or national identity card, during their travel. In case Romanian citizens need consular assistance, they can contact the Romanian Embassy in Stockholm at the specified phone numbers, with calls being redirected to the Contact and Support Center for Romanian Citizens Abroad. Additionally, for emergency situations, a special phone number of the diplomatic mission is available.
