The Minister of Labor, Petre-Florin Manole, announced in Zalău that the state supports commissions that are 10 times higher for cash pension distributions compared to those for card payments. Currently, the distribution of pensions is balanced between the two methods, with half of the pensioners receiving money on card and the other half in cash. Until the end of September, the commissions for pensions paid by card were 6 million lei, while for those in cash they were 60 million lei.

In this context, the Ministry of Labor will launch a program to promote pension payments by card, without imposing obligations, in order to encourage pensioners to opt for this method. Manole emphasized that, in the European Union, pension payments by card are a norm. He also linked the modernization of the pension payment system to policies that support job creation, highlighting the importance of contributions to the pension system.
