On the occasion of the Romanian Army Day, the Minister of Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu, announced the most extensive modernization program in the history of the army, which includes significant investments in combat equipment, infrastructure, and training programs. Moșteanu emphasized the importance of investing in people, acknowledging the professionalism of the military personnel who contribute to the credibility of the institution. He also highlighted efforts to improve working and living conditions for military staff, essential for fulfilling missions to high standards.

The minister recalled the significance of October 25, marking Romania's liberation from the Horthy-fascist occupation in 1944, and paid tribute to the heroes who fought for the country's independence. In the current context, he emphasized Romania's role as a reliable ally and a factor of stability on the eastern flank, in light of the war in Ukraine.
