On Friday, the Government approved the investment rationale for the “MoD Services HUB – Digital HUB,” a project aimed at modernizing the services provided by the Ministry of National Defence. Launched in August, the investment will be implemented over 36 months and has a total value of approximately RON 133.8 million, including VAT.
The project will be financed through the Smart Growth, Digitalization and Financial Instruments Programme 2021–2027, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund. Implementation will take place under the financing agreement concluded with the Ministry of Investments and European Projects.
The project’s innovation lies in the development of an integrated e-government platform through which the Ministry of National Defence will be able to expand electronic public services and facilitate cooperation with other institutions. The platform will include tools for electronic signing and document management, workflow administration, cybersecurity and data analysis.
The project also provides for artificial intelligence-powered online learning solutions, with the aim of streamlining administrative, decision-making and educational processes. The infrastructure will be hosted in two modular data centres located in Bucharest and Sibiu and will use a private cloud architecture, cybersecurity systems, backup copies and data recovery solutions.
