The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, addressed a message to the Muslim community in Romania on the occasion of the beginning of the month of Ramadan in 2026. He emphasized that this sacred period is a time for reflection on the spiritual dimension of existence and the cultural heritage brought by the Muslim community. Nicușor Dan highlighted the importance of cultivating interethnic dialogue and respect for diversity, in the context of the threats posed by extremism and radicalization. He stressed that religious traditions should promote mutual respect and solidarity in fulfilling the common good. The President expressed his gratitude for the contribution of the Muslim community to Romania's democratic journey and emphasized that Ramadan is an opportunity for spiritual renewal and communion.
