The mayor of Curtea de Argeș, Constantin Panțurescu, reacted nervously to questions regarding the resolution of the drinking water issue, which has affected nearly 50,000 residents for almost three months. He stated: "I am neither Mother Omida nor God to solve it."
Although the authorities claim that the water in the network is close to normal parameters and that dangerous bacteria have been eliminated, locals continue to face problems, needing to transport water from reservoirs. The Public Health Directorate confirmed that the latest tests showed good bacteriological results. However, citizens complain about the unpleasant smell of the water. The mayor mentioned that work is being done to change the water treatment network, following the requests of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan for concrete measures.
