The National Administration 'Apele Române' announced that the Măneciu and Paltinu reservoirs had a significant impact on managing the floods generated by the heavy rainfall in Prahova County, where water quantities exceeding 200 l/m² were recorded.

In the area of the reservoirs, a core of intense precipitation was observed, and at Măneciu, historical inflow rates were recorded. The flood formed on the Teleajen River was captured by the Măneciu reservoir, where the inflow rate rapidly increased to approximately 250 m³/s, while the outflow rate was limited to 60 m³/s. At the Paltinu reservoir, preventive measures were implemented by the controlled release of 6 million cubic meters of water, with a flow rate of 18 m³/s.

The risk of flooding and turbidity remains, and the authorities are constantly monitoring the situation. Measures are also being taken to ensure the water supply for the localities in the area.

In Vrancea County, rainfall exceeded 100 l/m², and teams are prepared to intervene. The National Institute of Hydrology has issued a hydrological warning for several river basins.
