Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that the government will assume responsibility for the project regarding judges' pensions, despite the negative opinions received from the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) and the Economic and Social Council (CES). The project is justified by the need to access European funds, correct some social injustices, and ensure the sustainability of the pension system. The pension will be set at 70% of the net salary, with work experience between 25 and 35 years, and the retirement age will be increased from 48 to 65 years over a period of 15 years.
The government will meet to adopt this project and send it to Parliament, triggering the procedure for assuming responsibility. Additionally, the agenda of the meeting includes the budget rectification project. The CSM issued a negative opinion, arguing that it is important for the opinions of judges to be taken into account in the reforms that concern them. The Minister of Justice, Radu Marinescu, emphasized the need to consult judges in the process of reforming their status.
