Florin Ghinea, known as Ghenosu, was arrested on Thursday by DIICOT prosecutors in a case of usury and blackmail, being accused of offering loans with interest rates between 81,000 and 459,000 euros.
The Romanian Police conducted 8 home searches on February 18, 2023, arresting five individuals and placing another person under judicial control.
The criminal group, coordinated by Ghinea, operated between 2023 and February 2026, offering unauthorized loans with interest rates of 10-30% per month.
Group members exerted psychological pressure and threats of violence against debtors to intimidate them.
Following the searches, sums of money, data storage systems, and luxury cars were confiscated. The judge for rights and liberties was notified for the preventive arrest of two detainees and house arrest for three others.
