The former Azomureș factory in Târgu-Mureș, a symbolic building from the Ceaușescu era, will be transformed into a real estate center, according to a Zonal Urban Plan (P.U.Z.) currently under public debate. The current owner intends to use the premises for mixed functions, including services, small production, and housing, tailored to the needs of the community. The area includes 72 industrial buildings, many unused for 15 years, but in good condition. The main building, designed by Fujitsu, has an area of 12,000 square meters and is capable of withstanding earthquakes of up to 9.4 degrees. The project aims to develop a diverse range of functions, including commerce, tourism, sports, and health services, to meet the needs of the Unirii neighborhood. A road connection to the city's bypass is also planned, without demolishing the existing buildings. This reconversion aims to revitalize the area and increase public interest.
