The statement was made after tens of thousands of people in these counties were left without drinking water. Diana Buzoianu emphasized that the blame for this situation lies both with the Buzău-Ialomița Basin Administration and the local water operator, ESZ. Although risks of increased water turbidity were identified, the operator did not communicate this information in previous meetings. The Minister requested the resignation of the directors of both involved authorities, mentioning that previous decisions were made by politicians from the PSD. In the context of the crisis, the National Committee for Emergency Situations approved the delivery of drinking water from state reserves. Additionally, OMV Petrom halted the Brazi power plant due to a technological water deficit. The transport of water is coordinated by the National Administration of State Reserves, with the support of IGSU, to ensure the continuity of supply to the affected population.
