In Iași, a court validated a controversial relationship between a 35-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl, who became pregnant. The man received a suspended prison sentence after admitting to the act, namely sexual intercourse with a minor, and took full responsibility, both for the newborn child and for the teenager with whom he had the relationship.

The relationship began when the girl was only 12 years old, and both her family and school representatives were aware of the situation. The authorities were informed only at the time of the birth, when the hospital reported the case according to the law.

Those close to the two claim that the man and the girl lived together since the beginning of the relationship, with him taking care of the expenses. Due to this situation, the young girl dropped out of school to take care of the newborn. Initially, the criminal case was opened for rape, but it was changed to sexual intercourse with a minor, which allowed the man to receive a suspended sentence.
