The Constitutional Court (CCR) is scheduled to make a decision on Wednesday, after four postponements, regarding the reform of judges' pensions, but several obstacles could delay the ruling again.

Constitutional judges are expected to meet at 10:00 AM in a session, but a new postponement is anticipated, as Judge Gheorghe Stan has requested paternity leave, which could affect the quorum necessary for deliberations.

Additionally, the Supreme Court, led by Lia Savonea, has asked the CCR to seek clarifications from the European Court of Justice regarding the law's compliance with European standards.

Moreover, the Bucharest Court of Appeal must decide on requests to suspend two CCR judges. The contested law, which provides for pension reductions and an increase in the retirement age, has been challenged by the High Court of Cassation and Justice. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan warned of potential financial losses from European funds in the event of a ruling of unconstitutionality.

Read on Informat.ro the opinions of Augustin Zegrean and Tudorel Toader about what might happen at today's CCR session and what options there are for the Court to not postpone a decision again.
