The ceremony will be officiated by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I and the Patriarch of Romania Daniel, in the presence of tens of thousands of pilgrims and a council of Orthodox hierarchs. The program will include a Holy Liturgy and the service of consecration of the painting, with access to the interior restricted to invitees, while the rest of the participants will be able to watch on screens set up outside. The cathedral, with a capacity of over 6,000 people and an interior painting made in mosaic, is among the largest Orthodox churches in the world. The total investment in its construction is estimated at 270 million euros. Authorities will impose traffic restrictions in the area for the smooth running of the event.
