The bypass of the town of Comarnic, an essential project for easing traffic on the Prahova Valley, is progressing according to plan. The viaduct over the railway and the Prahova River is in the preparation stage for pouring the concrete slab, and the retaining walls are under construction. The project, funded by the Ministry of Transport through CNAIR, has a value of approximately 300 million lei and will have a length of nearly 6 kilometers, allowing a travel speed of up to 90 km/h.
Recently, the project obtained the necessary approvals for advancing the works, including approvals for the technical execution project and the revision of the feasibility study. The bypass will include three new bridges and a passage over the Prahova River and the Ploiești-Brașov railway, facilitating the quick crossing of these obstacles. At the intersections with DN1, roundabouts will be arranged to efficiently manage traffic. The completion of the bypass is expected in the summer of 2026, contributing to reducing congestion and the time spent in traffic for locals and tourists.
