The Cluj - Oradea railway project is advancing rapidly, excellent mobilization on the site

The Secretary of State in the Ministry of Transport, Horațiu Cosma, announced significant progress on the construction site of the Cluj - Oradea - Episcopia Bihor railway line, highlighting the excellent mobilization of the teams working intensively to meet the milestones set by the PNRR.

On all four lots of the project, the installation of the rail has exceeded 70%, with 80% on lot 2 and 30% on lot 3. Cosma expressed optimism that by August 31, all assumed objectives will be met, which would bring approximately 2 billion euros to Romania.

He also mentioned that, although August 31 represents a milestone victory, the final objective is to reopen traffic on the modernized sections in 2027 and the complete completion of the project in 2028, ensuring a modern and electrified railway line that will connect Transylvania to European railway transport standards.
