The Chamber of Deputies has adopted a bill that allows owners to participate in proceedings via videoconference, thus reducing abuses and costs.

The adopted bill establishes that, as a rule, the participation of defendants and those interned in educational centers in processes via videoconference is allowed, with physical presence being necessary only in exceptional cases. The aim is to streamline the judicial system and reduce transportation and security costs, inspired by the experience of the pandemic. This amendment to Law no. 135/2010 addresses abuses related to fictitious transfer requests and will allow for faster and more efficient adjudication of cases.
