Matthew Whitaker, the United States Ambassador to NATO, stated that the partnership between the US and Romania is stronger than ever, despite the withdrawal of some American troops from Romanian territory. The message was posted on social media by the US Embassy in Bucharest, highlighting America's commitment to Romania as a reliable ally within NATO.

Whitaker emphasized Romania's consistent collaboration with the US over the past two decades to achieve common defense objectives. Romania's Minister of Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu, confirmed that the missile defense system at Deveselu and the air base at Câmpia Turzii are maintaining functionality, and approximately 1000 American soldiers will remain in the country. President Nicușor Dan assured that Romania's security will not be affected.
