The General Directorate of Police of Bucharest coordinated a house search in Giurgiu County, as part of a criminal case for continuous fraud and forgery in writings. Three suspects, representatives of construction companies, are accused of misleading five individuals between February and December 2022, claiming they would carry out turnkey house construction works in Bucharest and the neighboring counties. They used social media to attract victims, presenting themselves with photos of previous works. After signing the contracts, they received advance payments but abandoned the works, presenting false invoices for materials. The total estimated damage is 1,675,000 lei. Following the search, a 41-year-old man was apprehended, while the other two suspects are already incarcerated for other offenses.
