The Capital City Hall announced that all sanitation operators in the six sectors are ready to intervene in case of the snowfall forecasted for the night of December 24 to 25. Although heavy snowfall is not expected, the authorities organized a meeting to establish the necessary measures. In total, 512 machines, mostly multifunctional, and 2,496 workers are prepared to ensure snow removal and ice prevention in Bucharest.


Each sector has specific resources allocated: Sector 1 - 300 workers and 1,392 tons of anti-slip material; Sector 2 - 330 workers and 5,000 tons; Sector 3 - 456 workers and 3,580 tons; Sector 4 - 600 workers and 4,500 tons; Sector 5 - 350 workers and 2,500 tons; Sector 6 - 460 workers and 4,900 tons.


Actions will focus on main streets, boulevards, STB stations, hospital areas, and public institutions, as well as on secondary streets and sidewalks. The Bucharest Transport Company will intervene with 22 snowplows to clear the tram lines.
