The Bucharest City Hall has started the demolitions of illegal constructions in Cișmigiu Park, and is now turning its attention to Herăstrău Park, where the 'singing' terraces and other unauthorized constructions will be checked. Mayor Ciprian Ciucu has signed demolition orders for approximately 55 illegal constructions, including terraces and kiosks.
He emphasized that Herăstrău Park will undergo the same cleaning process, mentioning that he has signed a permit for securing the lake's banks, but that the terraces will require additional expertise. Ciucu stated that he is not afraid of potential pressures from those who own these terraces, emphasizing that everyone must operate legally. In the coming weeks, the City Hall will launch a regulation for terraces, taking into account regulations from other cities, to provide predictability and control. The demolitions in Cișmigiu have already begun, and the municipality has taken action against those who ignored previous warnings.
