The Buzău Regional Directorate for Roads and Bridges has completed the modernization of the bridge on DN 2N in Jitia, following an investment of more than 17 million lei

The modernization works on the bridge on DN 2N, at kilometer 53+300, over the Râmnicul Sărat River in Jitia, Vrancea County, have been completed and accepted, the Buzău Regional Directorate for Roads and Bridges announced. The investment, worth more than 17 million lei, including VAT, improves safety and traffic conditions in the area.

The bridge has three spans and a total length of 77.80 meters. The structure provides a road connection to DJ 204C and facilitates access to Jitia, as well as to the surrounding communities.

Before the works were completed, crossing the Râmnicul Sărat River was difficult. Local residents used either an improvised footbridge or crossed directly through the riverbed. The situation was particularly risky during periods of high flow, when the water level rose and crossing became dangerous.

Following the modernization and acceptance of the investment, the bridge on DN 2N has been brought up to current standards. The new road infrastructure provides better travel conditions and increased safety for road users and contributes to more efficient connections between the localities in the area.
