An iron bridge in Bacău County broke after a truck crossed it. Traffic was redirected

Authorities in Bacău County have imposed traffic restrictions on DN12A Comănești – Făget, in the village of Ciobănuș, Asău commune, after an iron bridge over the Trotuș River was damaged by a truck transporting construction equipment. The incident occurred on Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Firefighters from the Bacău Emergency Situations Inspectorate intervened at the scene, while road traffic is being directed by police officers. A detour has been identified for vehicles, while the area is being inspected to assess the condition of the bridge and determine the necessary measures.

The Technical Support Group is expected to arrive at the scene and will analyze the damaged structure. The situation will be discussed by the County Committee for Emergency Situations, where an action plan will be approved to restore traffic and return to normal.

The Bacău Emergency Situations Inspectorate is also seeking solutions to reduce the response time of intervention crews in localities affected by the restrictions.
