The AUR Party calls for the urgent restoration of the road connection and clarification of responsibilities following the damage to the bridge on DN12A in Ciobănuș, Bacău County

AUR is calling on the authorities to quickly restore the road connection after the damage to the bridge on DN12A, in the locality of Ciobănuș, Bacău County, and to clarify responsibilities regarding transport and infrastructure management.

The party says that official records showed the bridge had deterioration problems before the incident. According to a CESTRIN summary from August 2025, the section at kilometer 71+592 was listed as having “bridge deterioration” and a 7.5-tonne weight limit. AUR notes that this record does not establish the cause of the collapse, but is calling for explanations from CNAIR, the Ministry of Transport and ISCTR regarding the measures taken.

AUR is calling for the publication of the latest technical assessment and the history of inspections, restrictions and interventions. It is also seeking checks on the vehicle involved, including its weight, axle load, dimensions, permits and route, as well as an analysis of reports submitted by Asău City Hall.

The bridge’s iron structure was damaged on Wednesday morning after a trailer loaded with machinery attempted to cross the area. Heavy traffic was diverted onto the Onești – DN11 – Târgu Secuiesc route. AUR is calling for the plan for a temporary bridge and a local route for light traffic to be quickly turned into concrete works. The Bacău County Committee for Emergency Situations approved these solutions. The party is also calling for a public timetable for the construction of the permanent bridge and for safe routes to be maintained for heavy traffic and essential services.
