AUR condemned the involvement of the Russian Federation in the sabotage carried out at the Carfil industrial platform in Brașov on Tuesday and asked President Nicușor Dan, the Supreme Council of National Defence (CSAT), and the Government led by Luca Niculescu for explanations. The reaction comes after the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) and the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) announced that they had documented the activity of a sabotage network coordinated from Russia.
According to information presented by the authorities, three foreign citizens — two Belarusians and one Ukrainian, residing in European Union member states — were allegedly involved in the explosion that occurred on September 14, 2026, on the premises of the Carfil platform, a subsidiary of ROMARM.
AUR is requesting clarifications regarding any security breaches, the responsibilities of the institutions, and the measures adopted after the incident. The party is also calling for an urgent assessment of strategic industrial and military facilities, verification of security and access-control systems, as well as a concrete prevention plan.
SRI, DIICOT, the Ministry of National Defence, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are continuing their checks. President Nicușor Dan and Prime Minister Luca Niculescu have also condemned the act of sabotage.
