A decommissioned passenger plane became stuck overnight from Thursday to Friday, October 9, under a railway bridge on DN1, in the Măgura area, during oversized transport between Henri Coandă Airport and Voluntari. The convoy could not pass under the CFR bridge at kilometer 16+500 because of the dimensions of the aircraft and the platform.
The fuselage, without wings, was being transported on a special platform and was to be installed in Voluntari, where it would be turned into a play and recreational space for children. To clear the road, the transport was removed from DN1 and temporarily moved onto Gării Street, a secondary road.
The convoy will continue its journey after work is carried out on the equipment used. The transport is scheduled for October 9–11, along the route Otopeni Airport – DN1 – A0 – DN2 – Voluntari.
The aircraft is being transported under special conditions, with the convoy measuring 38 meters in length, 6.60 meters in width, 4.80 meters in height, and having a total weight of 60 tons. The movement is accompanied by authorized vehicles and Road Police crews.
