The radar of the Ministry of National Defense identified two drones on Monday evening 24 km northeast of Vâlcov, Ukraine, near the border with Romania. The incident was reported on Tuesday morning, and the town of Vâlcov is located on the Ukrainian bank of the Danube, in the Odesa region. In response, two F-18 aircraft of the Spanish Air Force, part of the Enhanced Air Policing mission, took off from Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base at 23:43 to monitor the situation.
Additionally, an IAR-330 PUMA SOCAT helicopter of the Romanian Air Force was launched at 00:05. Residents in the northeast of Tulcea County were alerted via a RO-Alerte message at 23:56.
According to the Ministry of National Defense, no drone entered national airspace, and the air alert was lifted at 1:15.
