Drone detected by MApN radars near Snake Island / Two Spanish F-18 aircraft were scrambled for monitoring

The Ministry of National Defense announced that on Thursday evening, at 18:27, a drone was detected 33 kilometers north of Snake Island.

Following this detection, two F-18 aircraft of the Spanish Air and Space Forces, stationed at Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base 57, took off at 18:41 to monitor the situation. At 18:44, the authorities issued a RO-Alert message for residents in the northern part of Tulcea County, marking the third message in less than 12 hours.

On the morning of the same day, at 10:08, the Ministry of National Defense detected a group of aerial vehicles in Ukrainian airspace, and Spanish F-18s were also mobilized.

Additionally, on Wednesday evening, a RO-Alert message was issued for possible falling objects from the airspace, and an IAR-330 PUMA SOCAT helicopter was deployed for monitoring. The air alert ceased at 00:00, with no incursions reported into national airspace.
