The Administration of the Environmental Fund (AFM) announced on Friday the approval of 3,661 eco-labels, totaling 48.097 million lei, under the 2026 Car Scrappage Program, which supports individuals in replacing old vehicles with less polluting ones.

The president of AFM, Florin Bănică, emphasized that this approval represents an important step in renewing the national vehicle fleet and in reducing the transport's impact on the environment. Beneficiaries have 60 days to destroy and deregister the old vehicle, after which they must upload the necessary documents in the online application.

The session for purchasing new vehicles with thermal, LPG/CNG, or hybrid engines is ongoing, with a budget of 10.79 million lei available, and registrations are open until December 31, 2026, or until funds are exhausted. The list of approved files is available on the AFM website.
