The Ministry of Environment announced on Thursday, October 29, a new registration round for the program aimed at replacing old vehicles with new, less polluting ones. Registrations begin on November 3 at 10:00 a.m., and applications may be submitted until December 31, 2026, or until the funds are exhausted.

The total allocated budget is 35.4 million lei, consisting of funds that remained available after some financing procedures were not completed during the previous round. Environment Minister Natalia Intotero said the funds must reach citizens rather than remain tied up in administrative procedures.

The eco-voucher amounts to 10,000 lei for petrol or LPG vehicles, 12,000 lei for hybrids, 15,000 lei for plug-in hybrids, 18,500 lei for electric vehicles, 10,000 lei for motorcycles, and 15,000 lei for electric motorcycles.

Applicants must scrap a vehicle at least eight years old for each eco-voucher requested. Only applications downloaded from the AFM app starting November 3 at 10:00 a.m. will be accepted.-vesm
