Following a violent brawl that took place on Saturday afternoon in Sector 5 of the Capital, ten people have been placed in preventive detention for 30 days, while another person has been placed under house arrest. The incident involved two groups armed with machetes, knives, and bats, and several participants were injured, requiring up to 35 days of medical care.
The incident occurred on April 4, when seven of the defendants assaulted each other along with another ten and an unidentified person, using bladed weapons and blunt objects. The Prosecutor's Office attached to the Court of Sector 5 has initiated criminal proceedings for brawling and disturbing public order. On April 5, the case prosecutor requested the preventive arrest of 16 defendants, but the court only partially granted the request.
In the case of another five defendants, arrest in absentia was requested, as there are indications that they are attempting to evade the investigation. The investigation is currently being conducted by the 19th Police Section of the Police of Sector 5, under the coordination of the case prosecutor.
