Seven men were detained after getting into a fight on a street in Medgidia / Police officers fired a warning shot

Seven men were detained for 24 hours after fighting on a street in the city of Medgidia on October 2. The spontaneous conflict broke out between two groups, consisting of three and four people respectively, and the participants allegedly threatened and assaulted one another.

According to police, blunt and sharp objects, stones, and tear-gas sprays were used during the fight. Two cars belonging to one of the groups were damaged, so the three men from the other group are also being investigated for property damage.

Police officers who arrived at the scene fired a warning shot into the air after the people involved failed to comply with their commands. No injuries or property damage were reported as a result of the gunfire.

Special Actions Service officers and gendarmes from the Constanța County Gendarmerie Inspectorate also took part in the intervention. The seven suspects are to be brought before the prosecutor handling the case, who will decide on the preventive measures.
