A 67-year-old teacher from Cernavodă has been placed in preventive detention for 30 days, accused of having sexual relations with a 16-year-old student. The Constanța County School Inspectorate is conducting checks.

A 67-year-old teacher has been placed in preventive detention for 30 days, accused of raping a 16-year-old student. The County School Inspectorate of Constanța was informed about the situation by DGASPC, following an anonymous report. It is mentioned that the man, who teaches history and geography at Cernavodă Gymnasium School No. 2, allegedly maintained sexual relations with his student starting in 2024, taking advantage of her vulnerability.

The police initiated investigations following an official report, and the man was detained for 24 hours. The School Inspectorate suspended the internal investigation at the request of the police, in order not to affect the criminal investigation. A verification committee has been established to analyze the situation.
