At the Rompetrol Refinery in Năvodari, on the night from Wednesday to Thursday, a queue of tankers formed waiting to load gasoline and diesel for distribution. Transporters traveled hundreds of kilometers to reach the refinery, encountering waiting times of hours or even a whole day, in difficult weather conditions. A driver from Iași stated that he has been waiting in line since midnight without knowing how much longer the wait will last. Petromidia has a refining capacity of 5 million tons per year, ensuring one third of the domestic fuel consumption. Against the backdrop of international tensions, the price of diesel could rise in the coming days, reaching up to 9.4 – 9.6 lei per liter. The president of the Intelligent Energy Association warned that the May 1st holiday could bring price increases and local shortages, while international quotes for Brent oil have risen significantly, affecting the budget of Romanian drivers.
